The invention relates to the field of water conservancy energy storage power generation, and discloses a water conservancy energy storage power station and a using method thereof.The water conservancy energy storage power station comprises a high-level water storage pond, a water conveying pipe, a stop valve, a reservoir, a water inlet pipe and a water conservancy pressure energy pump, and the high-level water storage pond is used for receiving water pumped from a water outlet of the water conservancy pressure energy pump and outputting water to generate potential energy during power generation; the downstream of the reservoir is used for receiving drained water of the water turbine generator set and the hydraulic pressure energy pump; the water delivery pipe is used for communicating the hydraulic pressure energy pump, the water turbine generator set and the high-level water tank to perform flow direction interaction of water potential energy; the multiple stop valves are used for controlling water flow guiding from the water inlet pipe to the water conservancy pressure energy pump, from the high-level water storage pond to the water turbine generator set and from the water conservancy pressure energy pump. Water with certain potential energy in an existing reservoir rich in water resources is utilized, the potential energy of the water in the process is collected, the utilization efficiency of the water resources is improved, the water conservancy pressure energy pump is more efficient compared with a traditional water conservancy pressure energy pump, the energy storage method is efficient in conversion rate, and carbon emission is not increased in the whole process.
