The hot pressing sintering method of the optical zinc sulfide fairing comprises the steps that zinc sulfide powder is pretreated; the pretreated zinc sulfide powder and a sintering additive with the melting point lower than that of zinc sulfide are mixed and put into a mold with the thermal expansion coefficient smaller than that of zinc sulfide polycrystals, the mold is put into a hot pressing furnace, the furnace is closed, the weight of the mixed powder put into the mold exceeds the raw material weight required by an ideal product of the mold, and the mold is coated with a release agent in advance; starting, when the absolute air pressure is reduced to 500 Pa or below, starting temperature rise, and meanwhile, continuously vacuumizing until the pressure is not greater than 5 Pa; in the first stage, the temperature is increased to 300-400 DEG C of the second stage at the speed of 5-10 DEG C/min, and heat preservation is conducted for S4, the vacuum pressure at the target temperature of 300-400 DEG C of the second section is not larger than 5 Pa; 10 min before the second section is finished, cold-state pre-pressing is conducted, and the pressure is 40%-60% of the process pressure; in the third stage, the temperature is continuously increased to 900-1000 DEG C at the speed of 5-10 DEG C/min, after the temperature is increased to 900-1000 DEG C, heat preservation is conducted for 30-60 min, the process pressure is increased to 20-40 MPa within 30 min, and finally heat preservation is conducted for 60-120 min; and after heat and pressure preservation is finished, releasing the pressure, stopping heating, naturally cooling, cooling to room temperature along with the furnace, and discharging from the furnace.
