The invention relates to an environment-friendly primer for an outer wall, which is prepared from the following raw materials: an emulsion, rutile type titanium dioxide, a filler, a thickening agent, a coalescing agent, a pH regulator and water, and the mass ratio of the emulsion to the rutile type titanium dioxide to the filler to the thickening agent to the coalescing agent to the pH regulator to the water is (30-35) to (5-8) to (25-30) to (0.6-1) to (2-2.2) to (0.1-0.15) to (50-70); the emulsion is at least one of a water-based polyvinyl chloride resin emulsion and a water-based acrylic acid modified alkyd emulsion, the filler is a mixture of talcum powder, wear-resistant silicon powder and heavy calcium carbonate, and the thickening agent is a mixture of cellulose ether and a polyurethane nonionic associated thickening agent. According to the prepared environment-friendly primer, through combination of all the components, the adhesion performance between the primer and a base material can be improved, and the hardness and alkali resistance of the primer are improved.
