The invention provides a preparation method of a beta-SiAlON fiber, the beta-SiAlON fiber and application, and relates to the technical field of ceramic materials. The preparation method comprises the following steps: providing Si powder, AlN and alpha-Al2O3, adding a dispersing agent and ethanol, and carrying out ball milling to obtain slurry; drying, grinding and sieving the slurry to obtain uniform powder; uniformly stacking the powder on a porous quartz plate of a fluidized bed vertical tube furnace to form a bed layer, opening a gas source valve, enabling nitrogen to enter from the lower end of the furnace tube through a nozzle, enabling the interior of the furnace tube to be always in a nitrogen atmosphere, starting the vertical tube furnace, heating to a certain temperature according to a heating curve, keeping the temperature constant, adjusting a flow control valve, and starting a reaction; and after the reaction is finished, obtaining a mixture of the SiAlON ceramic fiber and unreacted raw material particles on a porous quartz plate, and screening to obtain the SiAlON ceramic fiber. The method can better meet the actual requirements of toughening and reinforcing fibers in the ceramic-based composite material, reducing the thermal conductivity of the structural material and the like.
