The invention discloses a method and a system for controlling an electric door of an automobile. The method comprises the following steps: detecting positions and moving speeds of objects around the automobile in real time; after the vehicle door opening signal is received, whether the distance between the object and the vehicle door and the moving speed of the object exceed preset threshold values or not is judged; if the distance between the vehicle door and the object is smaller than the preset distance threshold value and the moving speed exceeds the preset speed threshold value, a vehicle door motor is controlled to brake or rotate reversely, and the vehicle door is opened by a preset angle according to the preset vehicle door opening speed. According to the scheme, the risk that objects outside the vehicle collide with passengers can be reduced.
