A traction arrangement for a battery-powered mining machine, the traction arrangement comprising a machine side (2) and a battery unit (1) removably connected to the machine side (2), the arrangement comprising: a hydraulic cylinder (11) arranged to the machine side (2) to release a brake of the mining machine when activated; a traction element (3) arranged to move relative to the battery cell (1) when a traction force is applied to the traction element (3); a mechanical connection between the traction element (3) and the hydraulic cylinder (11), where the mechanical connection is arranged to activate the hydraulic cylinder (11) to release the brake when a traction force acts on the traction element (3); wherein the mechanical connection device comprises at least one rod (8).
