The invention discloses a power system of a multifunctional hybrid excavator and a control method, an engine is coupled with a generator/driving motor device, the engine is in transmission connection with the generator/driving motor device through an electromagnetic clutch, and an output shaft of the generator/driving motor coupling device is in transmission connection with a working pump; the first hydraulic output end and the second hydraulic output end of the working pump are connected with the hydraulic input end of the pilot pump and the hydraulic input end of the multi-way valve respectively, and the hydraulic output end of the multi-way valve is used for being connected with the hydraulic input ends of a bucket oil cylinder, a bucket rod oil cylinder, a movable arm oil cylinder, a left walking motor and a right walking motor respectively. The energy storage device is in circuit connection with the generator and the rotary motor. Through the working mode of hybrid power, the engine and the motor can provide power for the whole excavator at the same time, excess energy is stored and utilized, the mode that electric energy, mechanical energy or hydraulic pressure are combined to drive different workpieces to act is adopted, and energy consumption of daily commuting of the excavator is reduced.
