The invention provides a liquid level detection system, a control method thereof and a closestool. The detection system comprises a liquid storage device, a pumping device, a function device, a controller and an alarm. The pumping device is configured to pump the stored liquid in the liquid storage device into the functional device; the controller is electrically connected with the pumping device and the alarm, and the controller judges the liquid storage amount in the liquid storage device by collecting the current value of the pumping device; and the controller responds to determine that the current value is lower than the preset current threshold value, and controls the alarm to give an alarm prompt. An existing liquid pump of an existing structure is used, the controller judges whether a solvent needs to be added to the functional assembly or not by monitoring the change of the current of the liquid pump, and therefore the purposes of saving cost, shortening the development period and being small in space are achieved.
