An underbody trim component for a road vehicle, comprising a porous fibrous carrier layer, the trim component being characterized in that the longitudinal direction of the component is aligned with the direction of travel of the road vehicle when the component is in use, and further comprising an embossed foil locally bonded to the porous fibrous carrier layer, wherein the flexural rigidity of the embossed foil at least in the longitudinal direction is at least 10% of the flexural rigidity of the porous fibrous carrier layer. The trim part is particularly suitable for use as an underbody liner for a vehicle. However, it can also be used as an engine underliner or a wheel casing outer liner.
