The VOCs inhibition type asphalt concrete is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 99%-99.5% of conventional asphalt concrete and 0.5%-1% of a VOCs inhibitor, the raw materials of the VOCs inhibitor comprise zeolite and activated carbon; the mass ratio of the zeolite to the activated carbon is (2-5): (3-5). The VOCs inhibitor is simple in raw material composition, and the raw materials are easy to obtain. When the VOCs inhibitor is used for asphalt concrete, emission of VOCs in the construction process of the asphalt concrete can be effectively reduced. According to the VOCs inhibition type asphalt concrete, the emission of VOCs in the asphalt in the construction stage is reduced, the chemical composition of the asphalt is not changed, and the VOCs in the asphalt pavement construction stage are effectively inhibited.
