The invention discloses a novel pontoon water taking system which comprises a cross base, a pontoon and a floating bridge connecting the cross base and the pontoon. The floating pontoon is provided with a stabilizing inhaul cable, the other end of the stabilizing inhaul cable is fixed to fixing tables on the two sides of the cross base 1, winches are installed on the fixing tables, the end of the stabilizing inhaul cable is connected with the winches, the floating pontoon comprises a platform, the bottom of the platform is detachably provided with a floating box formed by combining bolts, and a water taking device is installed on the platform. Two or more sets of supporting structures are arranged on the floating bridge at equal intervals, each supporting structure comprises a telescopic frame, a connecting plate used for being connected with the floating bridge is arranged at the upper end of each telescopic frame, and a supporting floating body is installed at the lower end of each telescopic frame. In the novel pontoon water taking system, simpler and low-cost pontoon overhaul or maintenance is achieved through the combined pontoon, the service life of the pontoon is effectively prolonged, the floating bridge can achieve large-span stable connection by supporting the floating bridge, and the stability of the pontoon water taking system is improved.
