The present application discloses a latch device for engaging or disengaging a first article to or from a second article, the latch device comprising: a housing mounted to the first article, having a bottom wall, a side wall connected to a lateral side of the bottom wall, a top opening opposite the bottom wall, the side wall is internally provided with a sliding groove roughly extending in the longitudinal direction. The handle is arranged at the top opening and is provided with a pivoting end which is pivotally connected to the shell and a free end which is opposite to the pivoting end along the longitudinal direction; the sliding piece is arranged near the pivoting end of the handle and is inserted into the sliding groove; wherein the handle can pivot between an opening position and a closing position relative to the shell, and the sliding piece slides in the sliding groove along with pivoting of the handle. The invention further discloses a latch system.
