The method comprises the following steps: erecting a cable-crossing crane for hoisting the stiffening beam on an inner main cable, hoisting the stiffening beam by the cable-crossing crane, and suspending the stiffening beam on the inner main cable through a first sling after the stiffening beam is hoisted to a set position; an opposite-pulling adjusting mechanism is installed between an outer main cable and the stiffening beam, the opposite-pulling adjusting mechanism is used for driving the stiffening beam and the outer main cable to move in the opposite direction, and the vertical distance between the stiffening beam and the outer main cable is gradually reduced; and when the length of the second sling on the outer main cable is larger than the vertical distance between the lower-layer bridge floor of the stiffening beam and the outer main cable, the stiffening beam is suspended on the outer main cable through the second sling.
