The invention provides a transverse facing as an external facade grating support and a construction method thereof. The transverse facing comprises a top facing structure and a bottom facing structure which are respectively fixed at the positions of a top structural beam and a bottom structural beam, the top facing structure comprises a top grid bar seat for connecting the tops of the grids between the upper layer and the lower layer and a top facing externally arranged on the outer surface of the top grid bar seat, and the bottom facing structure comprises a bottom grid bar seat for connecting the bottoms of the grids between the upper layer and the lower layer and a bottom facing externally arranged on the outer surface of the bottom grid bar seat. The top grid bar seat and the bottom grid bar seat are respectively formed by splicing keel supports, and the shapes of the top grid bar seat and the bottom grid bar seat are respectively matched with the top decoration face and the bottom decoration face. The steel keels are erected to form the veneer support of the grating, the steel keels are formed by splicing existing steel structures, the steel keels are detachable, use is flexible, and construction is convenient.
