The invention relates to the technical field of road maintenance, in particular to a sand-containing fog seal material and a preparation method thereof. The sand-containing fog sealing layer material is prepared from the following raw materials: a concentrated sealing material, fine aggregate and a polymer thickening agent, the concentrated sealing material comprises an organic solvent, solid asphalt particles, naphthenic oil, fibers and an acrylic monomer mixed solution; a proper amount of a polymerization initiator and a proper amount of a catalyst are added; the fibers are lignin fibers and/or mineral fibers; the fine aggregate is at least one of quartz sand, basalt sand and carborundum; the polymer thickening agent is at least one of an SBR thickening agent, an SBS thickening agent and an SIS thickening agent; isocyanic acid in the deblocked isocyanate can react with active hydrogen-containing fibers and fine aggregates, so that the stability of the fine aggregates in the sand-containing fog sealing layer material is improved; and the acrylic monomer and the polymer thickener react to form a polymer with better flexibility, so that the bonding strength and durability of the sand-containing fog seal material are improved.
