A barbed extractor device has a frame, a drum, a screen surrounding the drum, and a collection box for receiving barbed seeds. The frame includes first and second side members, a frame coupler, and a plurality of horizontal beams. The drum and the screen work together to pick up stabbed seed and transfer it to a collection bin to be discarded. The thorn extractor device may have a plurality of drums connected to a plurality of screens. The thorn extractor device may also have a vacuum device, a bracket, an added weight, and a hitch mechanism configured to be pulled by the vehicle. Two or more frames may be coupled together in sequence to increase the number of rollers to clear the ground with barbed seeds. In some examples, the thorn extractor device may have an automated drive system or may be coupled to a vehicle.
