The invention relates to a dolomite treatment method which comprises the following steps: carrying out first calcination treatment on a dolomite raw material at 790-810 DEG C to obtain calcined dolomite; preparing the calcined dolomite and water into an emulsion; introducing carbon dioxide into the emulsion to obtain a carbonized solution; and filtering the carbonized solution to obtain the refined heavy magnesium water. The dolomite raw material is subjected to first calcination treatment at 790-810 DEG C, so that only a small part of calcium carbonate in the dolomite raw material is decomposed, the energy consumption and carbon dioxide consumption of the dolomite calcination process are reduced, and the cost is saved; in addition, in the carbonization process, the concentration of dissolved calcium ions can be always kept at a low level, and high-purity basic magnesium carbonate is easily obtained.
