Portable lock device
An exemplary lock device includes a latch including an engagement portion and a tapered end portion operable to selectively engage with the engagement portion to maintain the lock device in a closed state. The lock head part comprises a shell, a sliding piece and a braking mechanism. The slider is mounted for sliding movement relative to the housing between a first position and a second position. One of the first position and the second position is a closed position in which the slider prevents the engagement portion from being removed from the tapered end portion, and the other of the first position and the second position is an open position in which the slider allows the engagement portion to be removed from the tapered end portion. The brake mechanism is configured to selectively resist movement of the slider from the first position.
