The invention discloses a purple sand ceramic material and a method for preparing a purple sand utensil, the purple sand ceramic material comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 40-65% of loess, 10-35% of yellow sand grains, 10-20% of high-iron red mud, 2-4% of shell powder, 1-3% of nano zinc oxide, 5-10% of cavings and 3-6% of nano TiO2, the loess and the yellow sand grains are firstly subjected to ball milling to obtain slurry, then the slurry is subjected to ball milling according to the weight percentage of the raw material formula, and the slurry is subjected to ball milling to obtain the purple sand ceramic material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing the slurry with other raw materials, carrying out ball milling, sieving to obtain a suspension, carrying out mud binding, mud refining and aging to obtain a mud material, carrying out a throwing or grouting method to obtain a green body, and finally drying and sintering to obtain the purple sand utensil. The purple sand utensil has double-structure air holes, good air permeability and no leakage, and the preparation method is simple in process and low in cost, so that the purple sand utensil has a wide market prospect.
