The invention relates to the technical field of overwater engineering, in particular to an overwater swimming pool and a construction method thereof.The overwater swimming pool comprises a plurality of prefabricated swimming pool units and a plurality of supporting piles, and the prefabricated swimming pool units are matched to form a swimming pool body; and the multiple supporting piles are used for supporting all the prefabricated swimming pool units. According to the prefabricated swimming pool, the prefabricated swimming pool units are arranged and the swimming pool is split, so that in the steps of prefabrication, hoisting, transportation and the like, corresponding operation can be sequentially carried out on the single prefabricated swimming pool unit, the weight and the size which need to be borne in the operation process are greatly reduced, and all the steps can be conveniently carried out; the multiple supporting piles are arranged in water to support all the prefabricated swimming pool units, the swimming pool body is made to be higher than the water surface in the swimming pool construction area, and therefore all the prefabricated swimming pool units can be conveniently poured and connected together subsequently.
