The invention relates to a leather bag device and method for a rubber waterstop joint box, the device is divided into an overground part and an underground part, the underground part comprises a box body and a leather bag, the overground part comprises a water pump and a flow control valve, the underground part is arranged on two sides of the joint box, the box body is integrally of a closed structure and is provided with only one cavity, and the leather bag is placed in the box body. The water pump and the flow control valve are installed outside the box body and connected with the underground part through pipelines. By means of the technical scheme, generation of weak positions of the concrete wall can be prevented, and the construction quality is improved; when the joint box is separated from the concrete wall body and the joint box is lifted out of the ground wall groove section, more space can be provided, and demolding and taking-out of the joint box are facilitated.
