The invention provides a mounting method for an ultra-large polygonal curved surface steel structure, and belongs to the technical field of steel structure mounting. The installation method comprises the following steps: drawing a ground sample drawing and a track drawing in an installation site according to a design drawing; mounting a rail and a base; a lower truss assembly is mounted on the base; mounting a lower shell on the lower truss assembly; assembling an upper shell; mounting an upper truss assembly and mounting an upper shell to the upper truss assembly; and assembling to form the polygonal curved surface steel structure. The ultra-large polygonal curved surface steel structure component is divided into the upper part and the lower part which are assembled on the ground respectively, and then the upper part and the lower part are folded in an integral lifting and integral sliding mode, so that on-site installation is completed, the high-altitude operation and high-altitude measure cost is greatly reduced, the on-site manufacturing and installation efficiency is improved, and the construction cost is reduced. The construction period is shortened, the requirement for the hoisting height of hoisting machinery is lowered, and manufacturing and installation of the ultra-large polygonal curved surface steel structure component in the height-limited space are achieved.
