A sound deadening composition includes an acrylic vibration damping polymer disposed on a surface of a filler. The acrylic damping polymer has a glass transition temperature Tg in the range of-60 DEG C to less than 10 DEG C as calculated by the Fox equation, and has a non-crosslinked component having a Tg less than-10 DEG C. The weight ratio of the acrylic damping polymer to the filler is less than 1: 1. A thermoplastic resin composition includes the sound deadening composition and a thermoplastic resin, where the sound deadening composition is present in an amount of at least 10 wt% with respect to the total weight of the thermoplastic resin composition. Articles produced from the resin composition are also disclosed.
