The invention relates to ceramsite sand for an oil field, the ceramsite sand comprises aggregate and a shell material wrapping the outer surface of the aggregate, and the mass ratio of the shell material to the aggregate is 1: (2-7); the aggregate comprises the following components in parts by weight: 15-30 parts of a matrix, 5-8 parts of white carbon black and 4-5 parts of starch; and uniformly mixing the aggregate and the shell material, stirring at the constant temperature of 50 DEG C, drying and curing to obtain the ceramsite sand.
