Novel high-strength and high-toughness SiC ceramic material and preparation method thereof
The invention provides a novel high-strength and high-toughness SiC ceramic material and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of structural ceramics. The novel high-strength and high-toughness SiC ceramic material is prepared from 75 to 82 weight percent of SiC, 10 to 12 weight percent of Y2SiO5, 6 to 7 weight percent of Zr3Y4O12 and 1 to 2 weight percent of ZrC, and materials with different sizes can be prepared by using different molds. The preparation method comprises the steps of raw material weighing, ball milling, drying and sieving, graphite mold preparation and hot pressed sintering which are carried out in sequence. The ZrO2 powder, the Y2O3 powder and the SiC whiskers are added into the alpha-SiC powder, and the ceramic material composed of SiC, Y2SiO5, Zr3Y4O12 and ZrC is obtained in the subsequent hot pressing sintering process, so that on the basis that the density exceeds 99%, the hardness exceeds 20 GPa, the bending strength exceeds 800 MPa, and the fracture toughness exceeds 8 MPa.m < 0.5 >; the process is simple in step, convenient to operate, short in flow period, low in cost, high in efficiency, easy to control and beneficial to industrial production. Particularly, the process can be used for preparing the SiC ceramic with relatively high bending strength and fracture toughness at the same time, and the application field of the SiC ceramic is greatly expanded.
本发明提供一种新型高强高韧SiC陶瓷材料及制备方法,涉及结构陶瓷的技术领域。所述新型高强高韧SiC陶瓷材料由75‑82wt.%的SiC、10‑12wt.%的Y2SiO5、6‑7wt.%的Zr3Y4O12和1‑2wt.%的ZrC组成,使用不同的模具可制备出不同尺寸的材料。所述制备方法包括依次进行的原料称量、球磨、干燥过筛、石墨模具制备和热压烧结。本发明通过在α‑SiC粉末中添加ZrO2粉末、Y2O3粉末和SiC晶须在后续热压烧结过程中得到由SiC、Y2SiO5、Zr3Y4O12和ZrC组成的陶瓷材料,从而在致密度超过99%的基础上硬度超过20GPa、抗弯强度超过800MPa、断裂韧性超过8MPa·m0.5;该工艺步骤简单、操作方便、流程周期短、成本低、效率高、易于控制,有利于工业化生产。特别地,该工艺可制备抗弯强度和断裂韧性同时较高的SiC陶瓷,大幅度扩展了SiC陶瓷的应用领域。
