The invention discloses a river channel excavation diversion method and a cofferdam structure, and belongs to the field of water conservancy projects. The method comprises the following steps: planning a riverway section needing to be deeply excavated in advance, and decomposing the riverway section needing to be deeply excavated into a riverway zone a, a riverway zone b and a riverway zone c from left to right; a flow guide ditch used for guiding incoming water is constructed in the river channel belonging to the river channel partition a along the river channel, and then a cofferdam with the same height as the dike a and the dike b is constructed at the position, located at the river channel partition b, of the center line of the river channel; and secondly, a riverway partition c is excavated on the right side of the cofferdam, diversion is conducted through the riverway between the cofferdam and the dike b and the riverway partition c, excavation of the riverway partition a is completed, a diversion pipe is laid at the bottom of the constructed riverway partition a, excavation of the riverway partition b is completed, and finally the whole deep riverway excavation operation is completed. The method has the advantages of being high in construction speed, easy and convenient to install, environmentally friendly, economical and efficient, and materials can be recycled for multiple times.
