The invention relates to a spindle drive (10) comprising a spindle (12) provided with an external thread, a threaded engagement element (16) in threaded engagement with the external thread of the spindle (12), a drive assembly (20) having a drive unit (22) configured to drive the spindle (12) or the threaded engagement element (16), the central shaft (12) or the threaded engagement element (16) being connected to at least one connection unit (14, 16), 18) for connecting the spindle drive (10) to a superordinate assembly that is not part of the spindle drive (10). According to the invention, the mandrel (12) is a trapezoidal threaded mandrel made of carbon steel and is heat-treated using at least one thermochemical method.
