Thermoplastic roofing film composite with protective film and method of installing same
A method of installing a thermoplastic roofing film within a roofing system, the method comprising (i) providing a first film composite and positioning the film on a surface of the roofing system, where the film composite comprises a protective film; (ii) providing a second film composite and positioning the second film composite adjacent to the first film composite in an overlapping manner to provide a lap joint of the pre-seam, where the second film composite comprises a protective film; (iii) thermally welding the first film composite and the second film composite together at the overlap of the pre-seam, wherein the thermal welding bonds a portion of the protective film of the first film composite into the seam; and (iv) removing a remaining portion of the protective film from the first film composite.
