The invention relates to the technical field of light soil, and discloses dolomite powder foam light soil and a preparation method thereof. The dolomite powder foam light soil comprises the following raw materials: (1) a solid material which comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 40%-70% of dolomite powder, 5%-30% of cement, 10%-50% of mineral powder, 0%-10% of fly ash and 2%-10% of gypsum; (2) water, wherein the mass ratio of the water to the solid material is (0.5-0.7): 1; and (3) foaming, wherein the bubble rate of the foam is 40-75%. The dolomite powder foam light soil provided by the invention can still keep enough strength under the condition of a large mixing amount of dolomite powder through proper raw material matching, so that the use amount of cement is reduced, the cost of the foam light soil is reduced, the resource utilization of solid wastes such as waste dolomite powder is realized, and the pollution of the dolomite powder to the environment can be relieved.
