The invention relates to a damping-adjustable large-tonnage electromagnetic damping device, and belongs to the technical field of vibration control. Comprising a shell, a motion conversion mechanism, a multi-stage speed change gear mechanism, a high-power direct-current motor and a rheostat. The shell comprises two groups of surface plates and side plates which are symmetrically arranged at intervals, and a connecting end plate and a restraining end plate are respectively arranged in the longitudinal direction; the motion conversion mechanism comprises a ball screw, a ball nut, a first-stage speed change gear thrust roller bearing and two symmetrically-arranged constraint steel plates. The two ends of the ball screw are provided with a guide shaft and a motion shaft respectively. The multi-stage speed change gear mechanism comprises two second-stage speed change gear sets arranged at intervals, two third-stage speed change gear sets symmetrically arranged in the longitudinal direction and a transverse steel plate for fixing the third-stage speed change gear sets. Four groups of high-power direct-current motors are symmetrically arranged in the shell, and the high-power direct-current motors are connected with a rheostat arranged outside through wires to form a series closed loop. Displacement and acceleration response of the structure can be effectively controlled.
