The invention provides a light building external wall thermal insulation composite material and a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of novel building materials.The preparation method of the composite material comprises the steps that firstly, a stable silica sol-organic composite precursor solution is prepared, the precursor solution is transferred into an electrostatic spinning machine, and an organic silicon hybridized nanofiber membrane is prepared; drying the organic silicon hybridized nanofiber membrane to remove moisture, calcining at high temperature, and removing organic components in fibers to obtain an inorganic silicon nanofiber membrane; dispersing the inorganic silicon nanofiber membrane to obtain homogeneous micro-nanofiber dispersion liquid; transferring the homogeneous micro-nano fiber dispersion liquid into a mold which is prepared in advance; the three-dimensional woven basalt fiber grid is soaked in the dispersion liquid in the mold; transferring into a foam box; and performing vacuum freeze drying to obtain the three-dimensional fluffy inorganic fiber aerogel/three-dimensional woven basalt fiber grid thermal insulation composite material. The material has the characteristics of low volume density, good flame retardance and excellent effect, and is suitable for building thermal insulation systems.
