The invention discloses a preparation method of a novel phase-change silicon dioxide aerogel heat insulation pad. The preparation method comprises the following steps: A, adding a phase-change material, a catalyst, organic silicon, ethanol and deionized water into a beaker according to a certain proportion, and uniformly stirring; b, putting a base material into the solution; c, putting the mixed solution into an aging device for aging treatment; d, putting the aged mixed solution into a drying box for drying treatment; and E, the dried material is modified to obtain the phase change aerogel heat insulation pad, the content of the phase change material is 15-20 parts, and the phase change material is composed of octadecanol, polyethylene glycol, silica sol, calcium chloride hexahydrate, sodium sulfate decahydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate decahydrate, barium hydroxide octahydrate and magnesium chloride hexahydrate. According to the invention, the phase-change material, the catalyst, the organic silicon, the ethanol, the deionized water and the base material are used as raw materials, and the prepared heat insulation pad has very good inhibition and delay effects on heat spread generated by a thermal runaway battery cell in a battery module.
