The invention discloses a dam anti-seepage material suitable for an extreme environment and an application method of the dam anti-seepage material. The dam anti-seepage material is prepared by mixing the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-50 parts of self-expanding particles, 10-20 parts of epoxy resin, 0.2-2 parts of a waterborne polyurethane curing agent and 1-10 parts of a complexing agent. The surface of the self-expanding particle is only coated with half of the viscous film, and the viscous film can be tightly attached to the surface of the particle under the condition that the expanding performance of the self-expanding particle is not affected. The swelling capacity of the particles is reserved in the smearing mode, the surface area of the unsmeared part can still freely absorb water and swell, and the adhesion force and stability between the particles are enhanced through the smearing part by forming a compact thin film layer. The design of smearing half does not limit the water absorption expansion capacity of the particles in the particle expansion process, and meanwhile, additional structural support and impact resistance are provided, so that the overall stability and anti-seepage effect of follow-up bonding are remarkably improved.
