The invention discloses a construction method of a cutting high slope protection system, which comprises the following steps of: in the construction process of an active protection net, firstly constructing a steel rope anchor rod with a ring sleeve, then pre-connecting a sewing rope and a longitudinal support rope or a transverse support rope by utilizing transition pipe fittings, and mutually inserting the transition pipe fittings on the same side of the adjacent steel rope nets, so as to form the active protection net. An axially-through rope passing hole channel is formed inside and used for the longitudinal supporting rope or the transverse supporting rope to penetrate through so that the steel rope nets at the corresponding positions can be connected in series, rapid installation and connection of the steel rope nets, the longitudinal supporting rope and the transverse supporting rope can be achieved, and after the transverse supporting rope and the longitudinal supporting rope are pulled in place, the transition pipe fitting is dismantled to form stress conversion; the arrangement construction of the active protection net is completed, the construction efficiency of the slope active protection system is remarkably improved, the labor intensity of a constructor for sewing construction of each steel rope net on the slope surface repeatedly and independently is reduced, and the construction safety is improved.
