The output end of the driving mechanism is connected with an adapter rod, the adapter rod is connected with a spiral rotary excavating blade through a torsion type clutch mechanism, and the lower end of the adapter rod is coaxially and detachably connected with an inserting drill rod or a detecting rod or a rotary excavating sampling rod; the spiral rotary excavating blade is movably arranged outside the drill rod, the detection rod or the rotary excavating sampling rod in a sleeving manner. According to the invention, the depth of the hardened layer of the ballast track bed is effectively detected, the buffer capacity and the water permeability of the ballast track bed are judged, and the aim of carrying out targeted cleaning operation on the ballast track bed can be fulfilled by referring to the detection result. The method is suitable for the technical field of hardened layer depth detection in ballast track bed detection.
