The invention discloses a dredging construction method for a trailing suction dredger, which comprises the following steps: setting a construction route in a GPS (Global Positioning System) positioning device, and setting a target downward digging position coordinate of the trailing suction dredger on the construction route in the GPS positioning device; the drag suction dredger moves according to a construction route set in the GPS positioning device, the drag head is started to descend into a mud layer every time the drag suction dredger moves by a first set distance, the mud concentration at the current depth is detected through the mud concentration sensor, and when the mud concentration at the current depth is larger than a set concentration value, the drag head works at the current depth and pumps and loads mud into a cabin. Starting the rake head until the slurry concentration at the current depth is reduced to be lower than a set concentration value, starting the rake head to continuously descend to the next depth, and repeating the process until the rake head reaches the target digging position coordinate until the slurry concentration at the depth corresponding to the target digging position coordinate is reduced to be lower than the set concentration value; and the drag suction dredger completes dredging operation. The drag suction dredging construction efficiency can be improved.
