Die Erfindung ist ein Kernelement (20) für Sandwichelemente, wobei das Kernelement (20) zumindest zwei miteinander kombinierte Halbkugelplatten (16, 18) umfasst, wobei jede Halbkugelplatte (16, 18) zwischen ebenen Abschnitten (10) und beabstandet voneinander uniforme halbkugelförmige Erhebungen (12) aufweist, wobei die beiden oder jeweils zwei Halbkugelplatten (16, 18) mit ihren Erhebungen (12) einander zugewandt sind und wobei bei zwei oder jeweils zwei miteinander kombinierten Halbkugelplatten (16, 18) die Erhebungen (12) einer Halbkugelplatte (16, 18) mit ihren Scheitelpunkten oder Scheitelflächen jeweils an einem ebenen Abschnitt der anderen Halbkugelplatte (16, 18) anliegen.
