Ein piezoelektrisches Element 10 weist auf: eine piezoelektrische Keramik 1, die als Hauptbestandteil ein Mischoxid mit einer Perowskit-Kristallstruktur enthält; und eine erste Elektrode 2a auf einer ersten Fläche 1a der piezoelektrischen Keramik 1 und eine zweite Elektrode 2b auf einer der ersten Fläche 1a gegenüberliegenden zweiten Fläche 1b. Die piezoelektrische Keramik 1 hat hauptsächlich eine rhomboedrische Kristallstruktur. Die Kristallachse der piezoelektrischen Keramik 1 ist {100}-orientiert und die Richtung der {100}-Orientierung ist orthogonal zu der Richtung, in der die erste Elektrode 2a und die zweite Elektrode 2b einander zugewandt sind.
A piezoelectric element that includes: a piezoelectric ceramic containing, as a main component thereof, a composite oxide having a perovskite crystal structure; a first electrode on a first face of the piezoelectric ceramic; and a second electrode on a second face of the piezoelectric ceramic opposite the first face. The piezoelectric ceramic mainly has a rhombohedral crystal structure. The crystal axis of the piezoelectric ceramic is {100} oriented, and the direction of the {100} orientation is orthogonal to the direction in which the first electrode and the second electrode face each other.
