The invention relates to a system and a method for resilient support or vibration-damping of buildings, and addresses the problem of specifying a solution by means of which a simple and inexpensive solution is provided for a resilient support or a structure of a damper system for reducing vibrations in a building (11), and by means of which both a high effective surface pressure and a low resonance frequency for a resilient support are achieved. This aim is achieved by an arrangement whereby the supporting means is an elastomer piston-cylinder system (1) having a compressible liquid elastomer (5) and at least one elastomer piston-cylinder system (1) is arranged between the building (11) or building part and the substrate (12) such that at least one elastomer piston-cylinder system (1) absorbs a weight force of the building (11), of the building part or of a damper weight (14).
