The hinge element profile is provided by a material strip, e.g. of sheet steel, divided by separation lines (I,II) along, transverse, or at an angle to its axial direction (A) into individual hinge elements (1,2) with wings (3,4,5,6), used for fixing to a component and a central hinge head (11,12) with a bore (13,14), for receiving a hinge pin. The hinge heads lie one after the other along the axial direction, the hinge pin bores lying along, transverse, or at angle to the latter.
