The rail has a lower part forming a sleeper (10) in an elongated form, in a transversal direction. An upper part forms a head (30) and a plate at two respective transversal sides. The plate and the head define a groove between them. The sleeper is dissymmetric in a plane perpendicular to a longitudinal direction. The sleeper has a center around which transversal force applied by a support column creates a moment of rotation. An independent claim is also included for an application of the rail in a track.
