Black pigment additive combination (A) for coloring building materials comprises one or more inorganic black pigments and one or more organic additives, and has a color strength of >=110%, preferably 112%, according to the color test. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for the preparation of (A) comprising mixing inorganic black pigments with organic additives and optionally drying and/or powdering the obtained mixture; and (2) a method for coloring building materials using (A) comprising mixing building materials (0.1-10 wt.%) such as cement or asphalt with (A).
