The method involves manual shaking of a screen/fabric (11), recording of a signal produced by a sensor (20) such as vibration sensor e.g. accelerometer or ball and contact inertial sensor, during the manual shaking, and automatically determining a safety threshold from the recording. The determination of the safety threshold includes determining the mean of ten strongest amplitudes of the signal in the recording, and making the mean to be the safety threshold. The end of the recording process results from the end of a time period triggered at the start of the recording. An independent claim is also included for an acceleration or movement sensor device comprising hardware and software for implementing the safety threshold setting method.
