The rod has an L shaped corner piece section with quasi-perpendicular wings (10-1, 10-2) including holes (9, 12) for providing a passage of a support strand. Each of the wings has folds (3-1 - 3-4, 4-1 - 4-4), where one fold (4-1) has round shape and constitutes common angle (8) between the wings. The folds in an end (7) of the wings are in round shape. The rod is obtained by deformation of a metallic band with 50 millimeters of initial width and 0.6 millimeter of thickness. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a metallic rod that supports a support strand of tree branch in fruit or vineyard cultivation.
