    The method involves softening one of surfaces i.e. waterproofing membranes, to be welded by heating, and welding the surfaces by subsequent pressing of the surfaces, where the surfaces are continuously heated using short-wave infrared beams by an infrared emitter. The waterproofing membranes are rolled up to form a roll (18). The surfaces are welded and heated simultaneously. The infrared emitter is guided along the waterproofing membranes in front of the roll. An independent claim is also included for a device for connecting a flat building waterproofing system.
