The invention relates to a coupling element (5) for coupling a cover (4) to a piece of furniture (1), such as a chair or table, for the purpose of covering the piece of furniture, comprising first coupling means (8) for coupling the coupling element (5) to the piece of furniture and second coupling means (11) for coupling the cover (4) to the coupling element (5). The invention also relates to a cover (4) for covering a piece of furniture (1), provided with counter-coupling means for coupling the cover (4) to the piece of furniture (1) by coupling using at least one coupling element (5) according to the invention.
