A method of fastening a Rear Mounted Lock Cylinder to a lock-housing in a door or a window, said method comprising the steps of: providing a Rear Mounted Lock Cylinder comprising a threaded hole in its rear surface, providing a lock-housing comprising a displaceable engaging element, providing a fastening element, inserting and fastening a first portion of the fastening element in the threaded hole in the rear surface of the Rear Mounted Lock Cylinder, mounting the Rear Mounted Lock Cylinder on the lock-housing such that a second portion of the fastening element is inserted through an opening in the lock-housing and displacing the displaceable engaging element such that it positively engages the second portion of the fastening element thereby providing a strong connection between the lock-housing and the Rear Mounted Lock Cylinder.
