The unit i.e. frame base (20), has a lifting safety pivoted lever (26) secured in a closing and/or lifting securing position (31) by a resilient locking element (35), by the formation of form-fit locking against unintentional pivoting around a pivoting axis (27) in a locking position. Pivoting of the pivoted lever takes place around the pivoting axis from the closing position and/or lifting securing position into an opening position only under the application of a high pivoting force. The lever supports the locking element supported and/or fastened at the lever, and comprises two lever arms. An independent claim is also included for a method for securing a coating unit such as frame coating unit i.e. frame bottom.
