The ceiling- or wall panel (1,1a) has an elongated panel body (A), at which a longitudinal edge (2) of a groove (4) is arranged. A spring (3) is formed at another longitudinal edge (2a) opposite to the groove, so that the panel body is coupled with another similar panel body (B) by forming a groove-spring connection. The latching units are arranged in area of the groove and spring, and are brought in engagement with each other. The latching units are spaced from each other in the coupled state of the panel bodies. A separation plane is formed between the latching units. An independent claim is included for a method for covering a ceiling- or slanted wall areas with two panels.
