Sizing composition for fibers and sized fibers
Disclosed are aqueous size compositions for inorganic fibers which is based on a specific polymeric film former composition comprising A) at least one low molecular weight polyvinylacetate and/or at least one middle molecular weight polyvinylacetate, and B) at least one low viscosity partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohol C) the weight ratio of A) to B) is between 0.5 and 3.0. Also disclosed are fiber strands and fibers having such a sizing thereon, and their use for making hydraulic set board comprising a hydraulic set cement or gypsum core and reinforcing inorganic fibers coated with the dried sizing compostion of the invention.
